Cuba Loosen the Salon Business
Cuba handed over hundreds of barber shop and beauty salon to employees.
This development was allegedly part of the beginning of the privatization policy which had long predicted.
All barbers and hairdressers in the shop with three or fewer seats will allowed rent space and paying taxes, instead of receiving a monthly salary.
Retail sector has long been ridiculed because of the rush service and rampant theft.
Former Cuban President, Fidel Castro, nationalized all small businesses in 1968.
'Slowly and cautiously'
Now the brother and successor in the presidency, Raul Castro tried to modernized Cuba directly into the system without full capitalism.
Other communist countries, like China and Vietnam, have been launched market reforms while maintaining political control.
President Castro's first economic reforms include the division of state-owned land that is not productive to private farmers.
